Old Exchange Building, now city Duma (1829 - 1834, Boffo)
Following the tradition to decorate public buildings with the statues symbolizing the activities that take place inside, this one is decorated with the statues of Mercury and Ceres - patron gods of trade and fertility in ancient times. This conveyed the idea that absolutely everything could be bought and sold there.
